We service the Sunshine Coast & Noosa (Queensland), Sydney (NSW), and parts of Perth (WA). On the Sunshine Coast, we cover Maroochydore, Beerwah, Maleny, Montville, Caloundra, Coolum, and Noosa. In Sydney, we service the Upper and Lower North Shore, Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, The Hills Districts, and Sydney CBD.

What services do you offer?

We offer a range range of Professional Picture, Mirror and Shelving Hanging services, including picture hanging, family photo walls, shelving installation, art placement, mirror installation and art transportation. We  service Sydney from the Upper and Lower North Shore, Northern Beaches,  Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, The Hills Districts and Sydney CBD.
We  also service the Sunshine Coast - Queensland from Maroochydore,  Beerwah, Maleny, Montville, Caloundra, Coolum and all the way to Noosa.

We also install TVs. We mount TVs for retailers such as The Good Guys, JB Hi Fi and Bing Lee. Your TV will be fully set up with all items connected and TV tuned in. I can also supply wall mounts at wholesale prices which will also save you time and money.

How much does it cost to use you?

We do not charge per hour. We charge on the scope of the project and per piece installed plus distance from our installer location to you. We do not charge a call our fee.

Our prices are competitively priced against other "Professional Art Installers" and we will do our best to match any price from a written quote you receive off them as to ensure you get the best on offer.

Are you insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we are fully insured art installers, covered by AAI Limited trading as GIO. Our insurance includes Public Liability and Product Liability up to $5,000,000, and coverage for art transport or art in our care up to $500,000 per item. We also have current Working with Children Checks (WWCC) and National Police Checks. Our installers are fully vaccinated and regularly undergo rapid testing for Covid-19.

I am renting - Can I hang Pictures & Mirrors?

Currently, in accordance with section 66(1) of the NSW Residential Tenancies Act, tenants are allowed to install fixtures or make alterations, renovations or additions to a rental premises if they have written consent from the landlord or the residential tenancy agreement permits.

A new section 66(2A) from March 2020 was inserted into the Residential Tenancies Act, setting out that certain alterations, additions, renovations and fixtures may be prescribed as of a “minor nature” and that the landlord is not able to unreasonably withhold consent. Further, with respect to certain prescribed minor changes, the landlord may give consent on the condition that an appropriately qualified person makes the change.

If you’re allowed to drill into the walls, we can definitely do your install. NSW Tenancy Law allows for minor modifications to be done as part of your rental agreement. As long as once you end your lease you return the walls to their original condition. We offer repair services for end of Lease Tenancy. First of all you all need to find out from your building manager or agent what the wall colour code is. We can offer a full patch and paint service.

If you have been specifically told in your Tenancy agreement that you cannot drill holes or are refused permission then there are a few "damage-free" solutions available from 3M such as adhesive picture hooks however, we do not install these products for you, as they can fail easily plus they can also peel paint off the walls which creates more damage than just drilling holes.

We do not recommend using Sticky hooks for any hanging of Artworks of Mirrors.

Fixtures and Fittings - What do I need?

Our Professional Picture and Mirror hanging service includes supply of all hanging wire, D-rings, French Cleats for the Heavy items plus even Secure Brackets for Artworks that are in public places so they cannot be removed. If at the time of your appointment we deem that the fixture is not sufficient this would incur additional charges for hanging products such as a French Cleat. We supply basic fixtures for your hanging at no extra cost.

Can you hang heavy Artwork and Mirrors on Gyprock Walls?

Of course we can. Hanging Pictures and Mirrors is an art-form itself. Most of the time it does not allow us to hang items into Stud work on your Gyprock walls. We have fixtures that we use for any weighted Art and Mirror pieces.

There has not been any Artwork or Mirror that we have not been able to hang on a Gyprock wall.

Do you hang using Picture Rails?

A question we get asked quite a fair bit is "Do we hang using Picture Rails?" Most houses more than 40 years old have Victorian Picture Moulding Rails, some newer premises have Gallery Rails installed.
 
We hang using both types of rails. We supply and use professional hanging fixtures supplied by FX Hanging Systems in Balmain. These are not only the best to use as the Nylon wire is clear but the zipper adjustable hooks can take a fair bit of weight on them.
 
If you are wanting to hang using either of these systems then you would need mainly 2 wire kits per picture if its over 50cm wide. Also to hang flush against the wall we add mini D drings to hang from otherwise the frames stick out on an angle.

Do you check walls for electrical cables and water pipes?

Yes, we check walls for electrical cables and water pipes using state-of-the-art tools before drilling any holes. While we can't prevent issues like crumbling walls, we can avoid damaging cables and pipes. Rest assured, we are fully insured in the event of any property damage.

Can you provide artworks and mirrors?

Yes, we provide artworks and mirrors for Strata Plan complexes. We collaborate with top interior designers to plan foyer and floor level artworks for new or renovated apartment complexes and office spaces. Our complete package includes attending Executive Committee meetings to discuss needs and present concepts. We supply themed frames or mirrors, including fire-regulated information and secure mounting brackets to prevent removal in public spaces.

Services Terms and Conditions

1. Bookings & Payment
1.1 All service bookings are calculated at a minimum charge of two (2) hours, regardless of the actual time required for the job.
1.2 Additional travel time is charged and calculated from our base location to your property and back.
1.3 All bookings must be prepaid in full at the time of confirmation. We do not accept payment after service completion, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
1.4 Failure to make payment in advance may result in the cancellation of your booking.
2. Pricing & Invoicing
2.1 All prices quoted are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST unless otherwise specified.
2.2 A detailed invoice will be issued upon confirmation of your booking. Any adjustments required (e.g., if work exceeds booked time) will be invoiced separately and must be settled within 7 days.
3. Cancellations & Rescheduling
3.1 You may cancel or reschedule your booking by providing at least 48 hours’ notice.
3.2 Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment may incur a cancellation fee equivalent to the minimum 2-hour service charge plus travel.
3.3 Refunds for cancellations made outside of 24 hours will be processed minus any applicable merchant or administrative fees.
4. Refunds & Consumer Guarantees
4.1 Our services are covered by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which guarantees that:
 • Services will be provided with due care and skill.
 • Services will be fit for the purpose that the customer made known.
 • Services will be delivered within a reasonable time.
4.2 If you believe the service provided was faulty or did not meet expectations under ACL, please contact us at info@hangingtough.com.au within 7 days of service delivery to request a remedy.
4.3 Remedies may include re-performance of the service or a partial/full refund, depending on the nature of the issue, in accordance with your consumer rights.
5. Liability & Access
5.1 It is your responsibility to ensure safe and reasonable access to the property where services are to be performed.
5.2 We are not liable for:
 • Damage resulting from hidden or unknown structural conditions within your walls (e.g., pipes, wiring, unstable surfaces).
 • Pre-existing damage to surfaces, frames, or objects.
 • Personal injury or property damage caused by misused or tampered installations after completion.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 All content on picturehanging.com.au, including text, logos, and images, is the property of the business and may not be reproduced without written permission.
7. Changes to Terms
7.1 We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of our website or services constitutes acceptance of any changes.

All bookings are to be Pre Paid up front in full. This ensures your Booking date and time as we guarantee an installer will be there. any additional costs will be payable on the day to our installer by EFT.

We only accept Card Payment either in person with our Installer who carries an Eftpos machine or by Electronic Invoice to be paid immediately.
